Transfer Process

Altair HyperDieDynamics (HDD) is an innovative methodology and software environment, fully customizable to specific customer requirements. The software is able to analyze and solve complex issues on production stamping lines, thus validating the transfer process through a truly dynamic simulation.

Based on Altair’s extensive sheet-metal forming and die-design knowledge as well as Altair’s multibody dynamics solver (Altair MotionSolve), HDD is a process simulation environment. Based on physical behavior, it predicts motions and forces within complex multibody systems such as sheet metal-forming transfer dies.

The main HDD simulation capabilities are:

  • Virtual die and line assembly validation (simulation of the tool components/transfer process)

  • In-motion blank and panel deflection analysis (panel vibration simulation)

  • Dynamic collision and proximity check (to avoid parts or bars clashing with tool dies) Optimizing SPM

  • Scrap-falling prediction capabilities

  • Wear sensitivity

Altair HDD helps users obtain early feedback on possible stamping operation failures, to virtually set up entire production lines and fine-tune the die-sets production at the desired strokes per minute (SPM).
